Semester I is August 17, 2009-January 31, 2010 (Aug. tuition is ½)

Semester II is February 1-June 13, 2010 (June tuition is due in full)

TUITION: Classes begin at just $49.00 and go up per month depending on class level and length. . Tuition is due prior to the upcoming month. Ex: March tuition is due on or before Feb. 28. A 10% late charge applies to tuition received after the 1st of each month. Returned checks are subject to a $36 returned check charge-we do not profit from this-it is what our bank charges The Academy.

We offer the following ROYAL ACADEMY MEMBERS PROGRAMS:

  1. 10% off second and third lower priced class per student or sibling

  2. Once a week classes are $49 for 45 minute classes per month

  3. One hour classes per month are just 65.50 per month

Royal Ballet Company Program”

The Royal Ballet Company Program is Florida’s most prestigious Pre Professional training program with Artistic Director, Jessica Davies. Davies has directed over 35 full scale productions at The Mahaffey, Ruth Eckerd Hall and TPAC. Her Nutcracker has aired on PBS twice and on Time Warner.

1) Senior Ballet Company is $75.50 per month and one elective class can be added for just $18 per month (ex: Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theater or Ballet)

2) Senior Ballet Company II is $99.50 a month and students can add one to two elective classes for just $18 per month for each elective*

3)Senior Ballet Company III is $125 a month per student and students can add up to three elective classes for just $18 per month for each elective*

  1. Royal Youth Ballet (was Adv. Majors) for $249.50 a month and includes two free elective classes each week of your choice*

  2. Pre Professional Royal Ballet (formerly Royal Youth Ballet) for $274.50 a month per student includes Lyrical PLUS three free elective classes each week of your choice*

 

Royal Dance Progression Program”

In the new age dance world, versatility is what makes a dancer successful. In the Dance Progression program our goal is to make the students stronger technically and physically, and to train the student to be well rounded dancers. The focus is Jazz/ Lyrical, but ballet and hip hop are also a main focus, due to the strong difference in each style, but also the impact they both have on all other forms of dance. Ballet technique is a driving force in all forms of dance, but the freedom of movement and emotion found in hip hop is beneficial for every dancer. In Jazz/Lyrical the students will have a mixture of jazz technique and movement, combined with lyrical choreography which is the fusion of jazz and ballet technique. Lyrical choreography challenges the students to use movement to interpret music and express emotion. Don’t miss out on this wonderful program. Jazz/ Lyrical it is a modern form of dance that is taking the world of dance by storm.

 

  1. Royal Junior Dance Progression Company includes $125.50 a month and includes One Jazz Lyrical, One Hip Hop and One Ballet class (also dancers can add one elective for just $18 per month)*

  2. Royal Senior Dance Progression Company is $249.50 a month and includes two Jazz Lyrical Classes, One Hip Hop and Two Ballet Classes (also dancers can add two electives for just $18 per month each)*

  3. Royal Dance Progression Company is $274.40 and includes two Lyrical Jazz, One Hip Hop, Two Ballet Classes (also dancers can add 3 electives classes for no extra cost)*

* Can add The Royal Dance Team for just $49.00 per month

 

There is a one time Annual Registration fee of $75.00 and this registration feeincludes 1 FREE $25 costume rental for Alice In Wonderland.

The Royal Academy Productions 2009/10

Our productions this season The Nutcracker and Alice In Wonderland! The Nutcracker Auditions are Saturday Aug. 22nd. The Nutcracker performance is Dec. 12 & 13(two performances) at The James B White Performing Arts Center. Alice In Wonderland is June 11, 12 & 13 (three performances) at The Largo Cultural Center. Auditions for Alice In Wonderland are being held during regular classes Feb. 8-13.

THANK YOU REFERRAL CREDITS

 

The Royal Academy thanks you for referring your friends, neighbors and classmates into classes and programs. From July 1-Sept. 30, 2009, The Royal Academy is offering a $50 THANK YOU REFERRAL CREDIT for each new RAFA family you refer and who signs up for one of our weekly classes. After Sept. 30, your THANK YOU REFERRAL CREDIT is $25. We greatly appreciate your referrals and will crown a Queen of Referrals (the person who refers the most families to RAFA) at The Nutcracker.

 

VOLUNTEERISM

 

The families of The Royal Academy have a strong commitment to their children and to the arts. In order to produce the high quality, lavish full scale productions The Royal Academy is known for. The Royal Academy asks families to volunteer as they are able. We appreciate the time and energy of all of our volunteers-our volunteers are the cornerstone of our productions. Thank you for your support!

COMMUNICATION/CONFLICT RESOLUTION

The families at The Royal Academy desire a positive, encouraging, and supportive team environment.  In order to foster a healthy community, The Royal Academy asks families to diligently avoid initiating any gossip.  We recognize that, with many people working together, conflicts will inevitably arise.  Any member of The Royal Academy community who has a conflict with a teacher or another individual should approach that person directly and, in a spirit of cooperation, seek resolution of their dispute without involving outside parties.  Whenever possible, approach any conflict resolution by giving the other person the benefit of the doubt.  This is especially true for The Royal Academy volunteers who sometimes must make difficult decisions that can not please everyone but who give the best possible effort.

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

The Nutcracker Auditions are Sat. Aug. 22 at The Royal Academy in The Diamond Studio from 10AM-3PM-times vary by age and ability. The Nutcracker Lead Role Judges will be Miss Nina, Mr. Mike and Miss Jessica. Make up Auditions are Sept.12 and are by appointment only. The Nutcracker will be held at The James B White Performing Arts Center on Dec. 12 at 7:00PM & Dec. 13 at 2:00PM. Dress Rehearsal will be held at The James B White Sat Dec. 12 at 11:00AM. The Royal Academy owns many costumes and is able to rent them for the low price of $25 saving our parents lots of money. This low price is possible due to the volunteers on our Costume Committee. Some roles are double cast. Costume rental fees are due on or before Oct. 31 at noon-think Halloween = Costume. After Oct 31, costume rentals fees are subject to a $10 late fee. Role options for The Nutcracker will be emailed out the first week of August. Davies’The Nutcracker has aired on PBS twice and has also been aired on Time Warner. It’s a gorgeous production and a wonderful experience for everyone. Parents are invited to participate with their children as Party Scene Guests-making The Nutcracker a joyful family activity. Rehearsals for The Nutcracker are held every other Saturday and not during regular class.

Alice In Wonderland Auditions are held during regular class Feb. 1-6th. Alice In Wonderland performances will be held at The Largo Cultural Center on Sat. June 12 at 2:00PM, Sat. June 12 at 7:30PM and Sun. June 13 at 2:00PM. The Dress Rehearsal will be held at The Largo Cultural Center Friday June 11 at 3:00PM. Most lead roles are double cast and costume rentals are just $25 each. Your registration fee includes 1 FREE costume rental for Alice In Wonderland. Any additional costume rental fees are due on or before March 17 at 7:00PM. After March 17, costume rental fees are subject to a $10 late fee. I understand that some lead roles for Alice In Wonderland may require me to purchase or rent a costume elsewhere. Alice In Wonderland will be double cast and has many terrific roles for all ages such as: Alice, The Cheshire Cat, The Queen of Hearts, The King, The White Rabbit, The March Hare, The Door Mouse, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, The Dodo, The Walrus, The Carpenter, The Duchess, Alice’s sister, The Violets, The Lilies and The Roses and many more! Alice In Wonderland will be rehearsed in class with some Saturdays for leads.

DANCE TEAM/ COMPETITION INFORMATION

Dance Competition is a new program being headed up by Miss Amy and practices will be held on Sat. mornings as per the class schedule. Auditions for The Royal Dance Team are Sat. Aug. 22nd (the same day as The Nutcracker Auditions) and audition times will be staggered so that dancers can try out for both programs. The Royal Dance Competition Team will be doing 3 dance competitions this spring and Miss Amy and Miss Nina will be holding the Parent Orientation Meeting on Sat. Sept. 12, 2009 at 9:30AM in The Emerald Studio. More details will be given at orientation.

TUITION AND FEES

I understand that Aug. tuition is ½ for the month (ex: $49 Aug. tuition is $24.50) and agree that I am responsible to pay tuition for the entire semester in full. I understand that ALL fees are non refundable and that tuition will not be prorated. I understand that Semester I is from Aug. 17 2009-Jan. 31, 2010 and that Semester II is from Feb. 1, 2010-June 13, 2010. I understand that August Tuition is due as a half month and that June Tuition is due in full.All Tuition is payable monthly as a courtesy, I understand that I am responsible for the whole semester of tuition payments-whether my child attends classes or not-NO FEES OR TUITION WILL BE REFUNDED EXCEPT IN THE EVENT OF A PARENT’S JOB LOSS OR SERIOUS INJURY TO YOUR DANCER. Semester I end with JANUARY TUITION due in full PRIOR To The Nutcracker AND Semester II ends with June tuition due in full PRIOR to Alice In Wonderland. I understand that tuition is due prior to the first of each month (ex: October tuition is due the last week of September and is late after October 1).

I understand that a 10% late fee can be applied for tuition remitted late. If you are having financial hardship please alert us via email in advance so we can work with you.

INFORMATION STATION AND OUR FAMILIES

I understand that the RAFAFL.com website is my families’ Royal Academy “Information Station.” I understand that it is my responsibility to check the website weekly for updates and for the Royal Academy NewsFlash. I understand that although information is sent via emails are sent by The Royal Academy, that emails are not a 100% reliable form of communication which is why the RAFAFL.com Information Station was created for the benefit of Royal Academy families.

HOLD HARMLESS

 

I understand that dance and musical theater are physical activities and I agree to hold harmless The Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Dance, LLC, Dance Olympia, LLC, teachers, artistic directors, volunteers, fellow students, fellow parents for any injury that my child or a member of my family might sustain while on the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Dance, LLC premises or while performing, volunteering or attending a production. I understand that I should take my child to the doctor’s to ensure s/he is healthy enough for physical activity. I give permission for my child to be video taped/recorded during in-class and on-stage performances. I give permission for my child’s photograph to be used for publicity by The Royal Academy and its’ publicity committee.
